Library Awarded Federal Grant to be used for a Summer Teen Intern

The North Bend Public Library is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), administered by the State Library of Oregon. The $4,000 federal LSTA grant will be used to fund a paid summer internship opportunity for teens, starting June 16th and ending on August 1st.

This opportunity is open to teens ages 16 through 18 who are rising Juniors or Seniors. Teens interested in applying for the position should do so at City of North Bend’s website at www.governmentjobs.com/careers/780031cityofnorthbend/, starting on April 8th. The deadline to apply is April 28th, and qualified candidates should expect to interview for the position during the first week of May.

Each year, the State Library of Oregon leverages state funding to receive a two-to-one match of federal funds under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States program, administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The State Library uses this funding to support libraries throughout the state, including grant opportunities for academic, public, school, and special libraries, as well as for federally recognized tribes in Oregon.
