COOS BAY, OR – Southwestern Oregon Community College wants to honor former students who have gone on after college to improve their professions, education, communities, and the world. We need your help nominating candidates for the 2025 Distinguished Alum. The person selected will be specially recognized by the College at graduation and celebrated through our various communications channels and events.

The College is accepting nominations through April 1. To be eligible, nominees must have graduated with a degree or certificate, or have completed a minimum of 60 credits from Southwestern.

An ongoing tradition since 1992, the College has honored distinguished alumni who have worked tirelessly and given selflessly to advance a profession and/or improve the lives of others. Past recipients attended both the College’s Coos and Curry campuses. They have included leaders in education, business and finance, the arts, Native American tribes, research, health care, nonprofits, athletics and the military.

Since the college’s beginning in 1961, thousands of Southwestern’s alumni have distinguished themselves in professions and innovative efforts to build friendships around the globe. We want to celebrate these accomplishments. Please consider nominating alumni for the recognition they deserve.
