The State Ombudsman Program in Coos County is calling for volunteers to sign up for the March online training. If you have a heart for the senior population in our long-term care facilities in Coos County, fill that desire by helping those forgotten residents. If you can dedicate a few hours a week visiting and advocating at one facility, you will affect many lives each week.
This training is online, allowing you to train in your own home. The joy you see in a lonely resident’s eyes helping them with simple acts, such as asking for a time change for their showers, makes the commitment worthwhile. There is one monthly meeting with a Deputy where we support each other on the team, and you become part of that network of volunteers as soon as you apply for training.
Do you want to be one of these valued members of the community who changes the lives of the forgotten, once often prestigious members of Coos County’s past? If you would like to hear more about the program and join our team, contact a local volunteer at 541-756-5730 or 541-267-0892. You can also contact the LTCO Office in Salem at 1-800-522-2602.
